At InsureNest, we take accuracy seriously. When we make a mistake, we aim to correct it promptly and transparently—we don’t hide or “bury” meaningful errors in silent edits.

1) What counts as a correction vs an update
We use these terms consistently:
- Correction: A factual error (e.g., wrong figure, incorrect definition, misstatement) that could mislead a reader. Corrections are clearly labelled as “Correction”.
- Clarification: The original wording may be technically true but could be misunderstood; we adjust the text to make it clearer and add a note where appropriate.
- Update: New information (e.g., guidance changes, industry practice changes, new insurer documentation). Updates may be noted with a refreshed “Last updated” date.
Minor typos that don’t change meaning (e.g., punctuation) may be fixed without a correction note.
2) How to report an error
If you believe a page contains an error, email contact@insurenest.net with:
- The page URL
- What you believe is incorrect (quote the line/section if possible)
- What you think the correct information should be
- Any supporting evidence/sources (links or documents)
We review all credible reports and source-backed disputes.
3) Our correction process
When we receive a report, we typically:
- Acknowledge and review the claim (including checking sources and policy documents where relevant).
- Fix the issue if an error is confirmed.
- Add a visible correction note on the article for meaningful errors, including what changed and the date (and time when helpful). This approach follows widely used corrections best practices.
- If the error appeared in more than one place (e.g., multiple pages), we correct all locations we control.
4) How corrections appear on the page
For significant corrections, we add a note near the end of the article (or near the top if the error is major), such as:
Correction (06 Feb 2026): We previously stated ____. This has been corrected to ____.
We use clear language that explains the change rather than vague wording.
5) Timing
We aim to correct confirmed factual errors as soon as reasonably possible, prioritising errors that could materially affect a reader’s understanding or decisions.
6) Disputes and opinion
Insurance topics can involve interpretation and differences between providers. If a reader disagrees with an interpretation, we may:
- add context,
- clarify assumptions,
- and/or add additional sourcing.
We may not correct content solely because it is disputed, unless the dispute shows a factual error.
